Media Library Information for FUN members

Media Library is now open with limited hours. FUN members can borrow books and use the study area. However, in order to prevent the spread of the COVID-19, there are some restrictions on the number of users who can enter the library. Please be sure to read the following guidelines before you visit  the library.
Please note that safety instructions, such as wearing a face covering or maintaining physical  distance given by FUN is also applied to the library. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Opening Hours

Opening Hours9:00 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.
  • We will extend the time by 15 minutes and start at 9:00 a.m.
  • After 6:30 p.m., the Library is opened with self-service hours.
 
Self-service Hours
(Resumed on 2022/6/13)

After 6:30 p.m. (5:30 p.m. on days when there are no classes), the Library is opened with self-service hours. During self-service hours, the service desk is not staffed and services users can access are limited

Services that are not available
Services requires face-to-face contact with the library staff including pick up an items you have requested, photocopying, using FUN thesis, etc..


Important Notice: Borrowing books 
The automatic book check-out machine has been renewed.
Please refer to the "How to check out" guide when you use the machine. The guide is located next to the machine.
If you have any trouble using machine, such as not knowing how to use it or an alarm sounding at the exit gate, please come to the library on the next day or later, when the service desk is staffed.



Entering the Library

 
 
Limitation of the Number of Users (Important Notice)
  • Due to safety precautions, the number of users will be limited.
  • The number of users within the Library simultaneously will be up to 50.
How to Enter and Leave Media Library
  1. Clean your hands using a hand sanitizer.
  2. Pick up a number tag.
    The tag is prepared by 50. When there is no number tag, you can’t use the Library. Please visit  later.
  3. Enter with your ID card.
  4. In leaving, return the number tag where it was. 

  


Borrowing Information

Borrowing Books
  • Go to the shelves and pick up the books you need, then borrowing them with book check-out machine by yourself.
  • You don’t have to email us in advance for book borrowing.
  • You can’t reserve books online to borrow them.
  • FUN students who can’t come to the university can borrow books by mail. (Please contact the Library when you want to use this service.)
Returning Books
  • In returning books, use the book post, even if they are overdue.
  • You don’t have to email us in advence for book returning.
Renew Your Books
  • You can renew your books repeatedly, provided they have not been requested by other users, and are not overdue. You can renew them online by yourself.
  • (1) Access to FUN Media Library website.   
    (2) Click “Renewing & check your status” on the left side menu and log in.
    (3) Click “Borrowing Record List"
Penalty
  • If books are not returned on time, your borrowing privileges will be suspended for as many days as the material is overdue. If you have reasons you can’t return books, please contact to Media Library.


Using the Study Area

Study area in Media Library is available for your self-study or taking classes online. But talking or speaking is not permitted in this area.

Services Not Available
  • Audio & visual materials and the space and equipment are not available.


Handling Library Collection and Equipment
  • We will sanitize the books been checked out.
  • There are sanitizing wipes near the shared equipment such as a book check-out machine and PC for book search, please clean them using the wipes.
