Information for International Students
Welcome to the Future University Hakodate. We aim to provide support and guidance for international students.
To help make your experience of studying at FUN a success, the Library offers both support and services.
Using the Library
- The Library opens every day except Sundays and National holidays. Opening hours are split into full service hours and self-service hours.
- You can find out basic information to use the Library on Using the Library
- Your University Card is also your Library Card. Always bring it with you as you will need it to enter the Library and borrow items.
- How to enter the Library
You need student ID card to enter the Library.
Step 1 Enter the Library from the entrance gate. (Red circle in the picture))
Step 2 Touch your student ID card then the door is open.
- You can borrow books and access the electronic resources provided by the Library for free.
- We are an open access library. This means you will need to go to the shelves yourself to find the books you need.
- We have a comfortable study space. If you want to study by yourself, work in complete silence or quietly
- If there is anything you would like to ask, please feel free to do so.

You can use this tool to search academic articles not only in Japan but also in the world.

There is a tool to find e-journals and e-books you can access to.
To gain access to e-resources you will need to go through the campus network

Studying Japanese
Non-Japanese books
- There is collection of English and other language books and Magazines in Library (Eg. Penguin Series)
- Not just subject related but also a few literacy books are available (check C section of Media Library)
- Sorry, vert few but not just English but also French, Spanish, Russian, Italian, German books are available
- Book seal color can use to recognize if book is Japanese (Blue color) or other language easily (Ash color)
